Vladimir Aleksandrovich Gurko-Kryazhin (real name is Gurko; April 24 ( May 9 ) 1887 , Tiflis - October 17, 1931 , Leningrad ) - Soviet orientalist , historian . Professor ( 1923 ).

Biography

In 1912 he graduated from the History Department of Moscow University .

In 1920 - head of the information department of the plenipotentiary representative of the RSFSR in Turkey and Persia .

In 1921 - head of the department of the East of the Caucasian branch of ROSTA .

In 1922 - 1928 he was a member of the Presidium of the Scientific Association of Orientalists and editor of the journal "New East".

Since 1924 - teaching: Oriental Department of the Military Academy of the Red Army MV Frunze , Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies ; since 1928 - professor at Leningrad State University . ^[one]
