The river is formed by the confluence of two small rivers, the Northern Chenog and the Southern Chenog, in forests 15 km north-east of the village of Lytka (the center of the Lytkinsky rural settlement ). The river flows northeast through the forest. It flows into Kama near the village of Ust-Chenog, 3 km south of the village of Pashino (the center of the Pashinsky rural settlement ).
