Paeonia 'Sarah Bernhardt'

Paeonia 'Sarah Bernhardt' ('Sarah Bernhardt' [2] ) is a mid-late variety of milky-flowered peony ( Paeonia lactiflora ). One of the old varieties that have not lost popularity and is currently used in breeding programs.

Named after the famous French actress Sarah Bernhardt in the Art Nouveau era. It is used as a decorative garden plant and for cutting [3] .

Biological Description

Perennial herbaceous plant .

The height of the plants is about 95-100 cm. The shoots are strong.

Leaves are green with a brownish-red tint.

Terry flowers , pinkish, pink-lilac, petal edges lighter, to silver-white. The diameter of the flower is about 20 cm. The aroma is pleasant, moderate [3] .

In Culture

Winter hardiness zones : 2-8.

Cultivation conditions see: Peony milky-flowered . In windy weather, a garter may be required.
