Biography
Vasily Nibylitsa was born on April 15, 1910 in the village of Yasnozerye (now Cherkasy district of Cherkasy region of Ukraine ). Before being drafted into the army, he worked as a shoemaker. In 1939 - 1940 he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. In 1941, Nybylitsa was re-drafted into the army. Since June of that year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. In the battles he was wounded [1] .
By September 1943, the Red Army soldier Vasily Nibylitsa was the sapper of the command company, the 178th tank brigade ( 10th tank corps , 40th army , Voronezh front ). He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper . September 24, 1943 Nybylitsa crossed the Dnieper south of Kiev and reconnoitered its western coast, which contributed to the successful crossing of the main forces and the seizure of the bridgehead on the western bank of the Dnieper. In those battles, the Nybylitsa personally destroyed 8 enemy soldiers [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 23, 1943 for "courage, bravery and heroism shown in the struggle against the German invaders", Red Army soldier Vasily Nibylitsa was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 2357 [ 1] .
In subsequent battles, he was seriously wounded, from whom he died on February 1, 1945 . Initially, he was buried in the courtyard of Linkenau (now Leszczynka Mała, Commune Maldyty , Ostroda County , Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , Poland ). Later, he was reburied at the military cemetery in the city of Morong [2] .
Rewards
He was also awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and the Red Star , a medal for military services [1] .
Memory
In honor of Nibylitsa, a street was named in his native village [1] .
