Biography
Since February 1942 he was a member of the underground photographic group of the Craiova Army (pseudonym "Bończa"). During the Warsaw Uprising, he took pictures of battles in the Warsaw areas of Sredmestye and Povislie. I took a photo chronicle of the activities of the Scout field mail . At the same time, he collaborated with documentary cameraman Anthony Bogdzevich , to whom he transferred photographs, while maintaining his negatives. Before suppressing the uprising, he hid 200 negatives in the basement on 12 Drevnyanaya Street, hidden the second part of the negatives in the apartment on 14 Smolnaya Street and buried the third part in the courtyard of the Zamoysky Lyceum. September 12, 1944 was captured after the suppression of the Warsaw Uprising. After the war, having returned to Warsaw in 1945, he was able to find the negatives hidden by him only in the basement on Drevyany Street. The remaining parts were irretrievably lost during the destruction of Warsaw.
Since 1948, he was a photographer at the Nasza Księgarnia Publishing Institute. He was a long-time leader of the Zachęcie photographic exhibitions.
He is the author of the photo album Warszawa w dniach powstania 1944, published in 1980 by the publishing house Krajowa Agencja Wydawnicza.
He died on September 21, 1980 in Warsaw.
