Biography
Grigory Nesmashny was born on April 7, 1914 in the city of Alexandrovsk (now Zaporozhye ). After graduating from the seven classes of the school and the school of factory apprenticeship, he worked as a foundry worker at the plant. In 1933, Nesmashny was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1936 he graduated from the Kiev Infantry School, in 1939 - the Orenburg Military Aviation School of Pilots. Since the beginning of World War II - on its fronts [1] .
By October 1942, the Guard Captain Grigory Nesmashny was the navigator of the 2nd Guards Air Regiment of the 3rd Air Division of the Airborne Forces of the USSR . By that time, he had made 114 sorties to bombard strategic enemy targets in his deep rear, inflicting heavy losses on him [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of December 31, 1942 for captain Grigory Nesmashny’s exemplary performance of command missions of the command at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown by the guard, he was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal Star ” under the number 699 [1] .
After the war ended, Nesmashny continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1955, he graduated from the Air Force Academy . In 1966, with the rank of colonel, Nesmashny was sacked. He returned to Zaporozhye. He died on January 4, 1990 [1] .
He was also awarded three orders of the Red Banner , two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, the Order of the Red Star and a number of medals [1] .
