Biography
Born in Moya and lived there until the age of 14. Currently there is his house-museum. He was one of the eleven children of Raphael and Solo (1625–1682), the owner of the village of Moya, and Mary Camce Sors († 1684). At the time of his birth, the family was in a good financial position due to profits from farming on their land, grain trade, and had contracts for the supply of a powerful textile industry. The family had a long tradition of participation in public affairs: his father was the mayor .
The family has kept the inheritance to the successor Francisco Kasanov. Young Raphael emigrated to Barcelona , where he studied law. In 1678, he achieved the title of doctor in law. His father died in 1682 , and his mother died in 1684 . Three years later, his elder brother Francis was named an honorary citizen of Barcelona; Moye was given the honor, that is, the Moi people enjoyed the same benefits that the inhabitants of Barcelona.
In 1696 his career was established, he married the heiress Maria Bosch and Barba, the daughter of Pablo Bosch and Maria Barba. The Bosch family had groceries in Barcelona. Maria Bosch was the widow of the physician Joseph Kamplonch and Puig, who also had a son named Joseph. In marriage, she stated that Rafael Kasanova entered the Bosch house in such a way as not to take possession of Bosch’s assets, but only to temporarily manage during the absence of children born of marriage, which means women's inheritance. Thus, Rafael Kasanova, the youngest son of the Moya family, strengthened his economic position in Barcelona.
In 1697, Maria Bosch granted the rights to the assets of Rafael Kasanov, who were supplemented in 1700 by Pablo Bosch, her father, giving new powers to manage the assets of the Bosch family.
December 29, 1704 Maria Bosh died during childbirth. Her two newborn sons - twins Pablo and Teresa - died a few days later.
