Biography
Ricardo Rocha began his career as a football player in his native Recife, in the Santo Amaru club, in 1982. The year before, Santo Amaru achieved the highest achievement in its history, taking second place in the Brazilian Serie C , so close attention was paid to the players of this team from the traditional “grandees” of Pernambuco state football. Already in 1983, Ricardo moved to the camp of "Santa Cruz", one of the most popular Recife clubs, where he immediately became the state champion.
In 1985-1988 he played for Guarani from Campinas, in which he twice became the vice-champion of Brazil twice, in the seasons of 1986 and 1987 . In 1986, Rocha entered the symbolic team of the Brazilian Series A, and the next year he made his debut in the national team. At the Pan American Games won by Brazil that year, Ricardo Roshi's partners were future 1994 world champions, Claudio Taffarel and Rai , and at the 1987 American Cup, Roche played together with Muller , Jorginho , Rai, Kareka , Dunga and Romario .
In 1989-1991, returning to his homeland after a short stay in the Portuguese Sporting, Ricardo Rocha played for the São Paulo, in which he became the champion of Brazil in 1991, won the state championship of São Paulo twice, and also twice fell into the symbolic team of Serie A. For the next two years, Ricardo defended the colors of Real Madrid, with whom he won the 1992/93 Spanish Cup.
In 1993, he returned to Brazil and took 5th place with “Santos” in Serie A [2] , while for the fourth time in his career, Rocha received the “Silver Ball” from a member of the symbolic Serie A team.
In 1994, already a player at Vasco da Gama, Ricardo Rocha went to the United States for his second world championship in his career. Rocha was the main defender of the Brazilian national team and began the group stage game against Russia (2-0) at the base. However, in the second half, Rocha was injured (at the 68th minute he was replaced by Aldair ) and did not play any more in the tournament, but in the end he became the world champion with the team.
After 1995, Roshi’s career began to decline - he ceased to be called up to the Brazilian national team and, although three of his last four teams were very eminent, he did not win titles in Fluminance, Argentinean Newell's Old Boyse and Flamengo, in the end completing the career of a football player in 1998.
At the end of his career as a football player, Ricardo Roche headed the professional football clubs in Brazil three times — his former club Santa Cruz twice (2001, 2008), as well as the KRC from Maceio. However, Rocha focused mainly on football-related entrepreneurial activities - he is president of RT Prosports, a sports management company.
The son of Ricardo Roshi (full namesake with the addition to the name Filho , that is, “Son”) also became a professional footballer. Ricardinho Rocha (born February 2, 1986) played for such teams as Nautico Recife , Rio Claru , Juventude , Valletta [3] .
