Biography
Vasily Avrorin was born in 1805 in the village of Petrovsky in the Mozhaisk district of Moscow province in the family of a deacon . In the 1820s he was in St. Petersburg [1] ; He was a pensioner of Metropolitan Filaret [2] . Since 1828 he studied painting with A. G. Venetsianov ; living with him, on behalf of Venetsianov, Avrorin gave painting lessons to 12-year-old S. K. Zaryanko [3] .
Several paintings of Avrorin were exhibited at the St. Petersburg exhibitions of the Imperial Academy of Arts : in 1830 - “Young people fishing from a gazebo” (now in the collection of the State Historical Museum ), “A turret with a drawer sitting by its side” and “The interior of the room and there are three with music tools "; in 1833 - "Reception Hall in the Winter Palace" [4] .
Around 1833 he moved to Moscow [2] [4] . He served as a deacon in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Kadashi [2] [3] . In Moscow, Avrorin painted the paintings “Circumstances of the Church of the Resurrection in Barash, from the gate to her monastery”, “Sparrow Hills”, “Zaprudnaya Sloboda with the Mamonov’s House”, the icon “Consecration of the Temple of Jerusalem” for his temple [2] , a portrait of Tolstoy.
He died in Moscow on July 20 ( August 1 ), 1855 [4] .
