Stanislav Antonovich Okulich ( 1846 - 1910 ) - military leader, lieutenant general, participant in the Russian-Turkish and Russian-Japanese wars.

Biography

Stanislav Okulich was born on November 4, 1846 . Left without parents, he was brought up in an orphan cadet corps. Later he studied at the 1st Moscow Cadet Corps and the 3rd Alexander Military School . Since June 1864 - on active duty. In 1866 he graduated from the second category military school [1] .

Member of the battles of the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878 , especially distinguished himself during the assault on Erzurum on October 28, 1877 . After graduation, he continued to serve in the army. November 26, 1901 he was awarded the rank of Major General . He participated in the Russo-Japanese War , commanded a brigade of Siberian riflemen of the 5th East Siberian Division. For military merits in 1907 he was awarded the Golden Weapon “For Courage” [1] .

Since September 1906, Okulich commanded the Kuban Plastun Brigade. He retired with the rank of lieutenant general. He died on June 24, 1910, was buried at the Ascension Cemetery of the city of Roslavl, Smolensk Region [1] .

He was also awarded the orders of St. George 4th degree, St. Stanislav 1st (with swords), 2nd and 3rd degrees, St. Anna 1st (with swords) and 2nd degrees, St. Vladimir 3rd and 4th (with swords and bow) degrees [1] .
