Biography
Born in a large family. His father was a painter and sculptor who painted churches.
Mishu Popp graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 1848.
He continued the work of his father, was engaged in painting church structures in Bucharest , Brasov ( Church of St. Nicholas ), Rasnov , Satulung , Tirgu Jiu , Kympulung Muschele , Urlace and others. Some of the paintings were made in conjunction with . The style of both artists has much in common.
Between 1847 and 1853 Popp adorned churches in Bucharest.
The author of a number of portraits of famous historical figures and contemporaries, including thanks to Wallachia Mihai the Brave , Ion Eliade-Radulescu , Andrei Muresanu , Vasile Alexandri ,
The artist’s paintings are now in collections can be seen in the Bucharest Literary Museum of Romania, the National Museum of Art of Romania , as well as in the museums of Arad , Brasov, Ploiesti and Sibiu .
