Lys is a village in the Novokuznetsk district of the Kemerovo region . It is part of the Kuzeedeevsky rural settlement [5] .

Content
History
The village was officially formed in 1906 during the Stolypin reforms . Nevertheless, people lived in this area even earlier.
Until 2004, Lys was an independent administrative unit. The structure of Lysin territory included over 2 dozen larger rural settlements. The population of the village of New Elovka alone totaled approximately 1,500 people.
By the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century , only Lys and Bolshaya Sulaga remained inhabited, where several people live. There is one small school in the village, well equipped and ennobled.
Geography
The central part of the village is located at an altitude of 340 meters above sea level [1] . Moreover, the center of the village is located in a kind of depression (pit). The outskirts of the village are hills. From the peaks of some of them you can see the Shor ridge (in the southeast direction from the village).
Population
According to the 2010 All-Russian population census , 314 people live in the village of Lys (150 men, 164 women) [2] .
