It got its name from the Tatar name of the nearby settlement Karlav Snezhnoe of the Black Sea region .

Geography

The maximum depth is 1.5 m, the average is 0.3–0.5 m. The Karlava Sivashniki are located between the Yarylgach bay (in the north), the Yarylgach lakes (in the east) and Panskoe (in the west) and the T-01-07 territorial road (in the southeast) communications Black Sea - Razdolnoye , section Black Sea - Mezhvodnoe ). It is separated from the Yarylgach Bay by a sand spit and is connected to it only by a narrow short strait. In the summer, the area of the water mirror of the lagoons is reduced due to dry weather, especially the shallow places of the spring flood that form the eastern (adjacent to the spit) and partially southern part of the lagoons. The bottom of the lagoon is covered with silt, as well as various algae.

The spit, which separates the lagoon from the bay, is a resting place for savage tourists who organize spontaneous resting places here (a tent camp and parking for personal vehicles) in summer. Also in the summer, another kind of tourist activity is organized here - kitesurfing , because of the calmer water mirror, unlike the Yarylgach Bay. This is one of the two places of kitesurfing in the Black Sea region (the other is Lake Liman ).

Karlava Sivashniki serve as a breeding ground and early development, as well as life, flora and fauna of the Black Sea, due to a more relaxed ecosystem. Here you can find shrimp, stingrays, fish. Here in the summer, locals and tourists catch shrimp.
