Located in the central part of the country at the foot of the Bilogor Mountains chain. The center of the Veliki Grjevac community is located near the national road Bjelovar - Zagreb .
An area of 16.484 hectares, a population of 2849 inhabitants (2011), which is 2.38% of the total population of Belovarsko-Bilogorsk County or 0.07% of the total population of Croatia. The population density of the Veliki Grjevac community is 17 people per km².
Among national minorities:
- Serbs - 5.90%
- Czechs - 4.74%
- Hungarians - 2.25%.
- other ethnic minorities are represented by less than 1%.

The community area is 44% covered with forests, there are about 5600 hectares of agricultural land. The main source of income is agriculture (meat and milk production). With two companies involved in the processing of wood, cut down forests of Croatia, through the forest Great Grđevac, sold as raw materials.
