Algeco (the acronym of the French phrase “Alliance et ge stion co mmerciale”, which means “Commercial Union and Management”, is pronounced “Algeco” with an emphasis on the last syllable) is a company producing temporary modular buildings and block-modular structures, is part of Algeco Scotsman. Such solutions are used in the construction of offices, dormitories, technical premises, not inferior in quality and convenience to capital buildings. Particularly relevant are the solutions for modular construction on the basis of block containers in case of high requirements for the speed of construction of objects, as well as inaccessibility or lack of economic feasibility of creating a network of technical communications, such as sewage, electrical networks, central heating.

Algeco is a registered trademark. In France and some European countries, the word "Algeco" has become a household name, similar to " Xerox ", " Jeep " and others. It denotes elements of modular buildings and block containers .

- 1955 - Foundation of the organization in the city of Mâcon (France)
- 1966 - Acquired by Preussag (now TUI AG)
- 2004 - Acquired by the British Investment Fund TDR Capital [1]
- 2007 - TDR Capital, having in its portfolio several companies of a similar business sector, acquires Williams Scotsman, the No. 1 company in modular construction in America, and unites all companies under the Algeco Scotsman holding
- 2008 - Opening of representative offices in Russia in the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg
- 2013 - The American company Target Logistics [2] was acquired, which provides services for the construction of temporary settlements for living on the basis of modular buildings and the creation of the entire infrastructure for a comfortable stay
Achievements
Algeco ranks fourth in Europe [3] among all companies doing business in the rental sector of construction and industrial equipment, and first in Europe among companies specializing in the rental of temporary buildings and modular-type buildings. After the acquisition of Williams Scotsman in November 2007, the holding has been generating revenues of EUR 1.7 billion per year since 2013, operating a fleet of more than 300,000 modules. The company employs 5,200 employees who serve tens of thousands of customers in 37 countries around the world [4] .
