M27 ( eng. Link, M27 ) - inventory designation of a metal detachable cartridge strip for 5.56 Γ— 45 mm NATO ammunition in the US Army equipment range.

Description

This type of cartridge belt is intended for storing and supplying ammunition when firing from all types of full-time automatic weapons with a tape feed of 5.56 Γ— 45 mm NATO caliber (usually for infantry light machine guns ). Originally created under the Stoner machine guns during the Vietnam War , it was later adapted for the M249 SAW machine guns. In fact, it is a reduced copy of the cartridge belt M13 to a single machine gun M60 .
