History
The origin of the name of the bay is not fully established. According to one version, due to severe winter storms , Venetian ships were forced to drop two anchors at the same time in order to stay in place [4] . Within the bay were the remains of an ancient Armenian church with Armenian inscriptions near the altar [5]
In 1784, a two-arm artillery battery was located in the bay. On the shore of the bay was the cottage of the famous Russian shipbuilding engineer G. I. Bubnov. Around it, a small holiday village of the Russian intelligentsia Bubnovka arose. At the bottom of the bay lies several ships. Among them is the German high-speed barge F-334A , which sank in September 1942 [6] .
On September 27, 2018, the twenty-meter boat “Iprom” went under water in the Dvuyakornaya Bay, there were no injuries. There was no fuel in the tanks; a spill was avoided. At the accident site, specialists from Rosprirodnadzor and the environmental prosecutor’s office worked out [7] .
