Creativity
Born in 1907 in Rankagua, he studied at the O'Higgins Institute in his hometown. From 1924 to 1928 he continued his studies in Santiago at the School of Fine Arts of the University of Chile . Laura Rodig and Jose Perotti studied with him. In 1937, Samuel Roman Rojas received a Humboldt scholarship, which allowed him to study at the Berlin Academy of Arts . Upon returning to his homeland, he worked as a teacher at the School of Applied Arts.
In 1939, he began working as the technical director of the National Museum of Fine Arts . By the nature of his activity, he visited Italy , Brazil , Argentina and Venezuela .
In 1943, he founded the Sculpture School Pedro Aguirre Cerda.
In 1944 he was appointed a member of the National Council of Monuments.
In 1958, he was elected academician of the faculty of arts at the University of Chile.
From 1966 to 1967 he traveled to Europe, visited Germany , Belgium , France , Italy and the USSR .
