Hypogippus ( lat. Hypohippus , from other Greek. Ὑπο- + ἵππος "under horse") is an extinct genus of the equine family. They were distributed in the United States ( Nebraska , Colorado , Montana ) in the Miocene (17-11 million years ago). They had three toes.
