Distribution countries: Australia , Brunei , Indonesia , Malaysia , Papua New Guinea , Philippines , possibly in Singapore . It lives at an altitude of from sea level to 1400 meters above sea level. This species has been observed in primary and secondary tropical rainforests, as well as in open forests. Accommodates in caves (especially large), abandoned mines and hollows of trees. Many hundreds of individuals can be in one perch. Females give birth to one cub.
There are probably no serious threats to this species. Given its wide range, it is presumably present in some protected areas [3] .
