Jesus Zarate
Jesús Zárate Moreno ( Spanish: Jesús Zárate Moreno ; 1915 , Malaga , Santander , Colombia - 1967 , Bogotá ) - Colombian writer and diplomat.
He received a law degree and was engaged in journalism. He held high diplomatic posts in Spain , the USA , Cuba , Mexico and Sweden . In 1972, his second novel “Prison” ( Spanish: La cárcel ), published after the author’s death, won Spain’s prestigious Planet Prize, which was presented to his children, who sent the manuscript of the novel to the jury. Following this, the rules for awarding the prize were amended prohibiting the award of the prize posthumously. In Colombia, four volumes of his tales were published during the life of Sarat
