History
The history of rocket science in Argentina begins in the second half of the 1940s . Prototypes AM-1 Tábano , PT-1 and others were developed by the Kordovian Institute of Aerotechnical Engineering. Intensive development and production of missiles were planned according to the 1967 Europe program . Samples of technology such as the Albatross, Martin Fierro, Martin Pescador , Matogo and SS-50 [4] appeared .
With the junta of “ national reorganization ” coming to power , the contribution to the development of the military industry has increased. Friction with Pinochet's Chile contributed to this.
Production was carried out by the state-owned company DGFM [1] [2] , at the Fray Luis Beltran plant in Rosario . A total of 40 pieces were released [2] . In the mid-1990s, the Argentine army consisted of up to 30 MLRS "Pampero" [5] . As of 2010, four installations remained in service [5] [6] [7] . They are gradually being replaced by the new MLRS - CP-30 and CP-130 [8] , although the last copies are still actively used [9] .
