Charsky district ( kaz. Shar audany ) is an administrative-territorial unit in the East Kazakhstan and Semipalatinsk regions, which existed in 1939-1964, 1972-1997. The center is the city of Charsk .

The Charsky district was formed as part of the Semipalatinsk region on October 16, 1939 from parts of the Zharma and Zhanasemeysky regions. The Charsky district included the village of Charsky, as well as Afanasyevsky, Bozhugursky, Delbegeteysky, Kezensuisky, Kudasovsky, Karpovsky, Korgambaevsky and Chalobaevsky s / s. Soon Karpovsky s / s was renamed Kirovsky.
In 1951, the town of Oktyabrsky was formed.
In 1954, Korgambaevsky s / s was abolished.
In 1957, Kudasovsky s / s was annexed to Chalobaevsky. Muratovsky and Novo-Bazhenovsky s / s were transferred from the abolished Zhanasemeysky district to Charsky.
In 1962, the Afanasyevsky s / s was abolished. The village of Bakyrchik and Bakyrchik sub-settlement was formed.
On January 10, 1963, instead of the Charsky district, the Charsky industrial region was created, which included the city of Charsk, the township Akzhal, Bakyrchik, Boko and Oktyabrsky. On November 1 of the same year, the Zhangiztobinsky sub-station (from the Zharma region) was transferred to the Charsky industrial region.
On December 31, 1964, the Charsky industrial region was abolished by joining the Zharma region.
March 10, 1972 Charsky district was restored. The city of Charsk, Auezov, Oktyabrsky, Suuk-Bulak, as well as Bel-Tereksky, Bozhugursky, Delbegeteysky, Karasuysky and Chalobaevsky s / s were transferred to it from the Zharma region. In the same year, the Zhaiminsky s / s was formed.
In 1977, the Teristanbalinsky s / s was formed, in 1979 - the Kosheksky s / s.
In 1994, the Chalobaevsky s / s was renamed Shalobaevsky, the village of Oktyabrsky in Espe.
On May 3, 1997, in connection with the liquidation of the Semipalatinsk region, the Charsky district was transferred to the East Kazakhstan region.
On May 23, 1997, the Charsky district was abolished, and its territory was transferred to the Zharma district.
