Content

Geography

The urban settlement is located in the central part of the district. It borders on the north, east and south with the rural settlement "Zagustayskoye" , in the west - with the rural settlement "Baraty" , in the north-west - with forests of the Gusinoozersky forestry.

The settlement territory covers the northern coast of Lake Goose and occupies the valley of the lower reaches of the Zagustay River, the northeastern slopes of the Khambinsky ridge and the southwestern slopes of the Monostoy ridge .

The federal highway “ Kyakhtinsky Trakt” and the southern branch of the East Siberian railway Ulan-Ude - Naushki with the Zagustay station located here pass through the territory of the municipal unitary enterprise City of Gusinoozersk.

History

On April 2, 1963, the Selenginsky district was abolished. The structure of Kyakhtinsky district includes seven village councils and a working village of Selendum . The working villages of Gusinoe Ozero , Naushki and Chikoi are included in the Gusinoozersky City Council [2] .

On January 22, 1965, the village of Ardasan of the Gusinoozersky City Council was transferred to the Zagustaysky Village Council of the Selenginsky District [2] .

On December 17, 1975, the settlement Zaozerny was registered and transferred to the Gusinoozersky City Council [2] . The village was an open military town . In August 2012, a military unit was withdrawn from the village.

Until August 2012, the village of Zaozerny was a military unit, where a small number of residents of Gusinoozersk worked. With the transfer to another region of the military and their families, who were the main population, the village was closed. All infrastructure is collapsed. The population is only two dozen people working staff.
