Chapo ( Spanish: Lago Chapo ) is a lake in the Lianquié province of the Los Lagos region of Chile .

General information
The lake is located 43 km east of the city of Puerto Montt in southern Chile. The area of the lake is 55 km², the maximum length is 17 km, the maximum width is 5 km, the height above sea level is 240 meters. Depths - up to 120 meters. The water temperature in the lake ranges from 9 ° C in winter to + 18 ° C in summer [1] . Food from numerous mountain streams, runoff from the north-western corner of the lake along the Chamisa River to the south-west to Relonkavi Bay [2] .
The lake lies at the foot of the volcano Calbuco , the slopes of the mountains surrounding the lake are covered with forest.
Rainbow trout is abundant in the waters of the lake.
Near the southern shore of the lake adjoins the Alerce Andino National Park with an area of almost 40 thousand hectares [3] , north of the lake is the Lianquiue National Reserve.
