Alexander (Sandor) Mochari ( born Alexander Mocsáry , Hungarian. Sándor Mocsáry ; September 27, 1841 - December 26, 1915 ) - Hungarian entomologist , corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences . A large taxonomist described more than 600 new species of insects for science, mainly from the hymenoptera (wasps, bees, riders) [1] [2] [3] [4] .

Biography
He was born on September 27, 1841 in Oradea ( Austria-Hungary , on the territory of modern Romania , on the border with Hungary), where in 1859 he graduated from the local gymnasium. Due to illness (tuberculosis), he did not finish his studies, which he was forced to continue at home, and then in Vienna, where he studied at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Vienna University . The brother of the Hungarian writer and financier Mocsáry Béla (1851-1917) [1] [2] [4] .
- 1870 - beginning of work at the Hungarian National Museum (Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum).
- 1910-1914 - Director of the Museum Department, creating a large collection of Hymenoptera insects.
He died on December 26, 1915 in Budapest [3] .
