The world championship in international men's drafts in 1983 was held July 3–16 in Amsterdam , the Netherlands under the auspices of the FMJD in a two-round system, organized after a protest by the USSR Drafts Federation. The tournament was attended by 8 athletes from 4 countries. The world champion was the representative of the Netherlands Harm Virsma .
