Physico-geographical characteristics

Geographical position

The village is located in the north-eastern part of the settlement.

The distance to the center of the settlement is 17 km.

Climate

Natural and climatic conditions, natural resources are limitedly favorable for the main types of economic, urban planning and recreational activities in connection with the development of exogenous geological processes.

The development of limitedly favorable sites will require the implementation of engineering preparation activities (vertical planning, lowering groundwater, protection against flooding, etc.), as well as engineering and geological surveys in order to identify subsidence soils and karst. The territory of the settlement is located in a zone of temperate continental climate, with hot and dry summers and moderately cold winters with stable snow cover and well-defined transitional seasons.

Devonian deposits overlain on the eroded surface of the crystalline basement, overlain by the Cretaceous system, as well as by Paleogene, Neogene, and Quaternary formations. The complex of cover sediments is represented by loesslike loams and sandy loams and, to a lesser extent, sand [2] .

History

The farm was founded at the beginning of the XIX century under the name Burnt. Here was the owner's farm Poddubny, owned by Prince Boris Alexandrovich Vasilchikov . In 1966, by decree of the Presidium of the Armed Forces of the RSFSR, the village of Progorelovka was renamed Poddubny [3] .
