Concept
In 2005 , Subaru officially unveiled its seven - seater SUV , based on a larger version of the Legacy and a new rear suspension, a prototype B9X . At the end of 2005 , the car went on sale.
Restyling 2007
In 2007 , at the New York Auto Show, Subaru introduced the new generation Tribeca. Subaru decided to abandon the “bold” design, which at the time she “scared” all potential buyers of the previous version of Tribeca. The new car turned out to be more restrained, weighty and interesting in its own way. The new generation Tribeca began to be equipped with a 3.6 liter engine, developing a power of 258 horsepower at 6000 rpm, and its torque will be 34 kg / m. As for the transmission, a 5-speed automatic transmission is installed on the car.
Release Termination
On October 18, 2013, Autoblog , Jalopnik , and Cars.com confirmed that Subaru told its dealers that Tribeca production would end in January 2014 due to small sales, as Subaru had sold only 78,000 cars since 2005, making it one of the worst selling cars in the US in 2011 and 2012; in 2013, only 1,247 cars were sold during the first nine months [1] [2] and ranked seventh among the worst US car sales for the 2013 model year. Subaru plans to replace the Tribeca car, an upscale 7-seater crossover, possibly based on the Subaru Exiga , to compete with Ford Explorer and the Nissan Pathfinder , which was in the planning stage, in order to attract new buyers of crossovers.
