Anno Online is a computer browser-based online game in the genre of urban economic simulator . The first game of the Anno series, distributed by shareware model . The game was developed by Blue Byte based on The Settlers Online technology and was first presented to the public on August 12, 2012 at Gamescom 2012 . Closed beta testing of the game in the world started on February 26, 2013, and in Russia and the CIS on November 6, 2013 [1] . Open beta testing of the game in the world started on September 26, and in Russia and the CIS on December 16, 2013 [2] . The project was closed on January 31, 2018.

Gameplay
The gameplay of ANNO Online is similar to the previous games in the series . The player needs to colonize the islands, establish transport and trade routes, build buildings for his residents and production facilities to meet the needs of citizens, trade with other living players [3] and increase the general level of welfare of his colony. But unlike past ANNO games, in ANNO Online, each player starts the game on the same island, so at the first stage of the game all users are on equal terms. As the game progresses, you can discover new areas and populate neighboring islands.
There are currently no PvP battles in ANNO Online.
Reviews and Awards
The publication of the Games@Mail.ru rated the game by 8 points out of 10 and called it "a real find for those who like the game to have a thousand subtleties that you can delve into for months" [4] . ANNO Online was named the "Best Browser Game of 2013" by a user vote [5] on the game .
