Geography
The village is located 22 km from the administrative center of the province of Krakow [2] . The village is located on the Lesser Poland path of St. James in the direction from Sandomierz to Tynts .
History
The first mention of the village dates back to the end of the 15th century. In 1581, the village became owned by Prince Constant Ostrog. In the XIX century, a coal mine operated in the village. From 1918 to 1939 the village was the center of the peasant movement.
In 1975-1998, the village was part of the Cracow Voivodeship.
