Duke - class battleships are four second-rank battleships built for the Royal Navy by Sir John Williams. The first type of ships of the second rank, which was developed from the very beginning as 98-gun (earlier types of ships were built as 90-guns, and then, in the 80s of the XVIII century, were equipped with 8 more guns) [1] .
