Archaeoglenes (lat.) Is a genus of black beetles ( Tenebrionidae ) from the subfamily Phrenapatinae . 8 types. Australia , New Zealand , Hawaii , Solomon Islands , Neotropics (4 species, including Panama , Jamaica ). Small beetles, body length from 1.2 to 2.8 mm. In neotropical species, hind wings are reduced, 9 segments in antennae (10 in other species), number of segments reduced to paws in formula 3-3-3 (in other species 4-4-4) [1] . The taxon was first identified by the Scottish entomologist Thomas Broun (Thomas Broun, 1838-1919) based on materials from New Zealand and for a long time was listed as part of the Colydiidae family. In 1975, the genus Archaeoglenes was separated into a separate tribe Archaeoglenini Watt, 1975) as part of the subfamily Phrenapatinae black beetles [2] .
