Kapuzh - the accumulation of water in caves and mine workings .
Casing is formed as a result of the leakage of groundwater through the roof in the form of dispersed tributaries or due to condensation of water vapor on the production surface with the active intake of ventilation air. Water vapor condensation is especially pronounced in salt mine workings. Casing, providing the intensity of water inflow into the working faces up to 3 m³ / h, are classified as weak local ones. If the intensity reaches 8 m³ / h, casing is characterized as strong everywhere.
Casing negatively affects the working conditions in the mine. Because of it, the effective life of equipment and lining is reduced, the bearing capacity of the soil and the stability of the rocks are deteriorating. The increased humidity created by the casing creates additional discomfort when working in the mine. The presence of dropping in salt mines can serve as evidence of deformation of the rock mass.
The main measure of protection against drip is the water resistance of the workings.
