Geographical position
The village of Kabanskoye of the Kasli District is located on the shores of Lake Kabanee , about 64 kilometers northeast of the district center, the city of Kasli , at an altitude of 175 meters above sea level [2] . The village is located around Kabanie Lake , which becomes shallow every year and because of the unsuitability of water in the lake and in drinking wells, residents use water from the Bagaryak River, located 3 kilometers from the village [3] .
Village History
The first settler was a fisherman Vakhrushev, a native of the village of Davydova of the Ognevsky parish. Other fishermen settled near Vakhrushev. The village received its name from wild boars, which were found in large numbers at that remote time in the reeds and talnik near the lake [3] .
At the beginning of the 20th century, the villagers were all Orthodox, and their main occupation was tillage and work in iron mines, located 5 miles from the village on Bashkir land, which was the subject of constant wrangling between the Russians and the Bashkirs [3] .
Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit and John the Baptist
Until 1883, the village was first assigned to Bagaryaksky, then Poldnevsky, and finally Zotinsky parishes. In 1883, a church was built in the name of the Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and the Baptist of the Lord John the Baptist [3] .

According to the All-Russian Census , in 2010 the population of the village was 33 people (13 men and 20 women) [1] .
