Prostylotermes kamboja (lat.) Is a fossil species of termites from the family Stylotermitidae . Found in Eocene amber (western India , Gujarat , Tadkeshwar lignite mine, Cambay amber, Ypresian layer , about 50 Ma). The body length of the female is about 5 mm, the male is 3.8 mm. Antennae 17-segmented. Formula of Spurs of Shins: 2-2-2. Species of Prostylotermes kamboja , Parastylotermes krishnai , Zophotermes ashoki and others were first described in 2011 by American paleoentomologists Michael Angel ( Engel, Michael S. ) and David Grimaldi ( David A. ). The species name P. kamboja is given by the name of the ancient Indo-Iranian people of Cambodia , which is mentioned in ancient Indian texts such as the book of Mahabharat [1] [2] .
