Biography
Born April 21, 1924 in the Chalkidon district of Istanbul. In 1942 he graduated from the Patriarch as the Great School of the Nation . He graduated from Istanbul University , where he studied law and world history [1] .
On February 6, 1945, Metropolitan Maxim of Chalcedon (Vaporzis) was ordained a deacon [1] .
In 1946 he graduated from the Theological School in Halki and until 1959 served as an archdeacon in Chalkidon [1] .
On June 28, 1959, he was ordained bishop of Thralley, vicar of the Metropolis of Chalcedon .
On September 12, 1972, he was elected Metropolitan of Imbria and Teneda , the Iertim and Exarch of the Aegean Sea .
Under his leadership were 11 communities on Imvros and one on Tenedos, which nurtured the same number of clergy.
