History

Sieru Sacrificial Source

Archaeologist Mati Mandel on the territory of Vanamyiz discovered traces of a settlement that existed from the second half of the first millennium AD to the beginning of the second. [6] In addition to the settlement, a sacrificial source was also discovered here, called the “Source of Sieru” [7] and two ritual stones. [8] [9] In 1913, during the construction of the radio station, Arab dirhemes of the 9th-10th centuries were found in the village. [ten]

The first mention of the village is contained in the Danish land book of 1241. The settlement is referred to as “Kircotæn”. [5] This land was owned by Jon Roth, and then Ivar Tagesen, a Danish politician from the mid-13th century, who was executed in 1262. It is not known who owned the village after Tagesen. [eleven]

In 1459, the noble manor of Kergut (Kerketey) was built in Vanamõisa, [5] which gained independence from Saue Manor in the 1670s. In the XVII century the estate belonged to the Gastfera and Helvigami . In the XVIII - Ludwig, Buxgeven, Bremen , Klugen and Palen . In the first half of the 19th century, the owners of the manor were Morenshilds and Stenboks , and in 1853 it became the property of the Tallinn House of the Poor. From 1882 until the abolition of the estates in 1919, the manor belonged to the owners of the manor Saue Straelborn . [12]

In 1866, on the basis of the lands of the Vanamyyza and Rakhul manor, the Vanamyyza-Rahul volost was created, which existed until 1886 and was divided into two regions. [13] Vanamõisa Independent Parish lasted until 1891 [14] and was merged with Saue Parish. [15]

On December 5, 1945, the village became part of the Saue Village Council . [15]
