The referendum in Slovakia 2004 is the sixth referendum in the history of Slovakia, which took place on April 3, 2004 [1] . On the agenda was the issue of holding early parliamentary elections, which was as follows: “Do you advocate that deputies of the People’s Council of the Slovak Republic adopt a law to terminate the activities of the People’s Council of the 3rd convocation and support the elections to the People’s Council in 2004?” ( Slovak. The referendum was announced according to the petition of the Confederation of Trade Unions, it was initiated by the Kurs Party, the Communist Party of Slovakia , the Party of Left Democrats and the People's Party - Movement for a Democratic Slovakia . The referendum was also initiated by the then President of Slovakia, Rudolf Schuster . Of the 608,518 signatures for the referendum, 557,282 were recognized as valid. According to the results of the referendum, 87.9% of voters supported the holding of early elections, while 12.1% opposed it.
