Kashuby - the medieval Slavic tribe of Pomeranians , who inhabited the region from the mouth of the Vistula to the lake арarnovskogo. First mentioned in the X century under the name Kuhsabin by the Arab traveler Al-Masoudi .
The descendants of this tribe is a modern ethnos - Kashubians , who were not Germanized or polonized and retained their cultural and linguistic characteristics.
