Marcel Abdrakhmanovich Gafurov ( Bashk. Marcel Abdrakhman ouly Gafurov ; 1933 - 2013 ) - Bashkir writer and translator, journalist. Member of the Writers' Union of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1982). Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR (1982) and the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1976). Laureate of prizes named after S. Zlobin (2005) and named after B. Rafikov (2005).

Biography
Gafurov Marcel Abdrakhmanovich was born on May 10, 1933 in the village of Mrakovo, Mrakovsky district, Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Brother M.A. Gafurov .
He graduated from Mrakovskoe Pedagogical School. He served in the ranks of the Soviet Army. In 1955 he graduated with honors from the Bashkir Pedagogical Institute named after KA Timiryazev .
From 1958 he worked as an employee, and from 1967 - editor of the Leninets newspaper .
In the years 1972-1983. He was deputy editor of the newspaper "Soviet Bashkiria . "
He died on June 16, 2013 in Ufa [1] . He was buried in the Southern cemetery of the city of Ufa [2] .
Creative activities
Poems by Marcel Gafurov began to be published in the 1950s. in the newspaper Sovetskaya Bashkiria , the almanac Literary Bashkiria, the collection Young Forces, as well as in Literary Newspaper, Komsomolskaya Pravda , Red Star, and in the magazine Soviet Warrior.
In 1960, the first poetry collection Early Snow was published. He is the author of more than ten books of poetry and prose [3] .
Some essays of the writer were included in the collections “... And No Legends” (1964) and “Stars of the Day Sky” (1979). They were devoted to pressing problems of economics, science and technology, and the culture of Bashkortostan. His essays and reports on the construction of the Bukhara-Ural gas pipeline, travel notes on England, Belgium, Luxembourg, Yugoslavia, Hungary and other countries were very popular with readers. The result of the trip to the GDR was the book “Rapprochement” (1979), which described the cooperation between the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and the Galle district .
Marcel Gafurov translated the poems of Akmulla , R. Ya. Garipov , N. Nadzhmi , T. Kh. Garipova, novels by D.F. Islamov , B.Z. Rafikov , A.M. Aminev , D.G. Kiekbaev into Russian , K. Mergen , Z. G. Uraksin and others. Gafurov also translated several Bashkir folk tales , which were included in the Bashkir folk art code.
