Biography

Representative of the princely family of the Shcherbatovs ( Rurikovich ). The youngest (fifth) son of the patriarchal and tsar's captain , Prince Nefed Ivanovich Shcherbatov (d. After 1629 ). The elder brothers are Princes Alexei, Matvey, Athanasius and Konstantin Shcherbatov .

He began his service as a tenant . In 1668 - 1669, Prince D.N. Shcherbatov served in the regiment in Sevsk under the command of the boyar Prince Grigory Semenovich Kurakin .

On April 28, 1671, Prince D.N. Shcherbatov was granted a lawyer . In 1675 he served in Sevsk in the regiment of the boyar of Prince Yuri Alekseevich Dolgorukov . On April 20, 1679 he was granted the royal captives .

In 1680, Prince Dmitry Shcherbatov participated in the Putivl campaign, consisting of a regiment of the boyar of Prince Vasily Vasilyevich Golitsyn . In 1682, he signed a council resolution abolishing parochialism . September 25, 1683 received the rank of okolnichilo .

The only son is Prince Peter Dmitrievich Shcherbatov (? - 1724 ).
