Biography
Coming from a peasant family.
He had a two-story stone house in Petrozavodsk , engaged in ship fishing and food trade. A food supplier for the needs of the Alexander Plant .
In 1802-1804 he was elected burgomaster of the Petrozavodsk magistrate. In 1811-1813 - the mayor of Petrozavodsk.
During the reign of H.P. Kostin, the opening of the Provincial Men's Gymnasium took place. During the Patriotic War of 1812, he was the organizer of urban recruitment, the formation and sending to the front of the detachment of Olonetsk shooters, the placement in Petrozavodsk of teachers and students of the Main Pedagogical Institute evacuated from St. Petersburg.
