Biography
Born on August 14, 1905 in the village of Deushikha, now Sokolsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region, in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1943. He graduated from elementary school. He was the chairman of the collective farm.
In the Red Army since 1941, at the front since November 1941.
He distinguished himself in the battles for the liberation of Belarus in the autumn of 1943. On October 11, Petty Officer Tyurin crawled up to an enemy bunker under enemy fire in an area of anonymous height, threw grenades at him, and destroyed a machine gun with a calculation. He was wounded, but continued the battle. On October 17, during an attack on the village of Kritsky, he destroyed an enemy assault gun, which interfered with the advancement of the company. He died in this battle.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 4, 1944, for the exemplary execution of combat missions of command on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown to them, the elder Tyurin Alexander Vasilievich was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union .
He was awarded the Order of Lenin .
He was buried in the village of Gurki, Gorodok district, Vitebsk region .
At home, in the village of Dresvishchi, Sokolsky district, an obelisk is installed. His name was given to a school in this village and a street in the city of Puchezh, Ivanovo Region . The name of the Hero is immortalized at the memorial in the district center of the village of Sokolskoye.
