Druyan, Ann

Ann Druyan is an American screenwriter and producer specializing in popularizing science. In 1980, together with Karl Sagan, she became a co-author of the documentary series " Space: a personal journey ." She is also a co-producer and co-author of the sequel to the series Cosmos: Space and Time .

Biography

Druyan was born in Queens ( New York ), in a Jewish family. In an interview with the Washington Post , she indicated that her interest in science generated a fascination with Karl Marx .

Druyan, along with Karl Sagan and Stephen Soter, became one of the three authors of the Cosmos documentary series : personal travel , and later participated in the creation of the film Contact . Sagan and Druyan co-authored the books Comet, Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, and partly A World Full of Demons.

She was responsible for the selection of musical works for gold records sent by mankind into space on the Voyager-1 and Voyager-2 devices.

In 1981, she married Karl Sagan (third wife), from this marriage she has two children.

She was a member of the directors and from 2006 to 2010 was president of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws [1] .
