Early years
Smith was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to the family of Teria Smith (née Oster), a teacher of American origin, and Maurice Smith, a Canadian scriptwriter, director and producer. Smith's mother appeared in several films by Maurice in the 1980s. Douglas has two brothers - actor Gregory Smith and Andre Smith, and sister Samantha Smith.
Career
Douglas began his acting career at the age of eleven. He has participated in such successful projects as Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters , Detective Rush , CSI: Crime Scene , Blast from the Past , Beyond the Limits of Possible , and The X-Files .
Together with his girlfriend playing in the group Alaskan Summer. Smith is a vegetarian.
