Biography

Zakharyin wrote that his father, a captured Tatar , having converted to Orthodoxy, settled in Kozlov and gained a considerable fortune by trade. After the death of his father, the inheritance was stolen, and Peter Mikhailovich was left with nothing [3] .

Consisting in military service, he was engaged in poetry between things. Derzhavin , who was then the civil governor of Tambov, did not particularly appreciate his poetic gift and described him in the following way in the comic poem Desire of Winter dedicated to him: taste. "

On September 15, 1786, on the day of the coronation of Catherine II, the National School opened in Tambov. At this solemn act P. M. Zakharyin delivered a solemn speech written by Derzhavin, at that time the Tambov governor. It was printed in several periodicals, issued in two separate editions, translated into foreign languages.

His “Arsafax. The Chaldean fictional story ”(Moscow, 1793-1796) was very famous; She was very approvingly praised in literary circles, and Derzhavin also praised her.
