Austin loadstar

The Austin Loadstar is a British light-duty truck produced by the Austin Motor Company ( AMC ) in the 1950s. The Austin Loadstar was the first after World War II model manufactured by AMC and sold in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Scandinavia . It is a truck with a body with drop sides or in a flatboard version. The Mk III model, which appeared in 1956, was notable for its new design and interior decoration.

K9 option

Known as the “K9”, the “military” version with a 4x4 wheel formula and increased ground clearance was produced and used as ambulances , tow trucks and radio communication vehicles. The military version often had a hatch on the roof of the cabin for observation and defense.

Miscellaneous

The Austin K9 truck was used by criminals to transport money during the Great Train Robbery .
