History
Before the beginning of World War II, the history of the village is not known. During the Great Patriotic War, most of the villagers went over to the side of the Germans. But there were also those who remained on the side of the USSR . In the period from 1941-1944, fierce fighting took place in the village. According to the stories of the old villagers, the Germans wanted to make a German cemetery in the village. In the forest near the village in 1941-1944, there were also battles against the Germans. Somewhere in the depths of the forest, the plane fell either with the Germans or with the Soviet soldiers. In 1942–1943, a plane crashed near a village with a Soviet pilot who had long been considered an unknown soldier. After the war, he was recognized and found relatives. The village still keeps the secrets of those terrible times when the Germans were on the territory of Belarus. Up to the 1990s, there were about 200 courtyards in the village. Currently, there are about 25 of them. Until the 1990s, there was a school in the village of Zalesye. In the 1990s, it was closed due to a lack of pupils, all of the remaining pupils were transferred to Goryansk secondary school. The school was turned into a residential building.
