Biography

Elena Koroleva was born on June 3, 1937 in Moscow. In 1960 she graduated from the B.V.Schukin Theater School (artistic director - V.K. Lvov ). As a 3rd year student, she was invited by A. V. Efros to the Yermolova Theater for the role of Simone in the play “Dreams of Simone Mashar”. After a successful debut on the stage of the Ermolova Theater, she played in many performances by A. V. Efros.

In 1964-1987, she played at the Moscow Art Theater , and after the division of the theater she became an actress of the Moscow Art Theater named after M. Gorky , where she worked until 1990. After that, she performed at the Russian Spiritual Theater “Glass”, the Jewish Theater “Shalom” , and “ Sphere ”. In 1995, she returned to the Yermolova Theater.

In 2007, the actress was diagnosed with stomach cancer . She died on April 23, 2008 in Moscow, and was buried at Danilovsky cemetery [2] .
